Geparda - Driving with an A1 license - from the age of 16!
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Geparada is here!
We are delighted to present to you a revolutionary car that can be driven from the age of 16 with an A1 driving license.
After intensive and long development, numerous test drives over thousands of kilometers as well as extensive material tests and road tests, the time has finally come and we were able to successfully register our Geparda for road traffic - as an L5e vehicle.
Unique registration regulations and technical highlights:
The Geparda, as an L5e vehicle, may have more than 20 hp, the weight limit is 1000 kg. A special regulation allows the body, which is actually limited to three wheels, to be fitted with four wheels, provided these are designed as "double wheels". With the A1 driving license, which can be obtained from the age of 16, nothing stands in the way of driving the Geparda from now on.
The top speed is limited by the 20 hp alone and reaches an impressive 110 km/h on a straight line. The Geparda proves to be a versatile vehicle, suitable for the city, country roads and even the highway.
Safety and comfort:
The Geparda is equipped with all the safety systems of a modern car - including ESP, ABS, airbags. In addition, all models have built-in air conditioning as standard to keep a cool head even on hot days.
Efficient engine and technical challenges:
The engine of the Geparda, with 3 cylinders and 999 cc, has been throttled to 20 hp and is also extremely economical in terms of fuel consumption.
The sophisticated throttling was meticulously tested to ensure harmonious power delivery. The complex conversion required extensive certifications for every component, even for the tank and horn, as well as comprehensive tests for emissions and safety-relevant systems.
The Geparda's patented rear axle underwent intensive material testing to simulate extreme loads. Driving tests for suspension tuning were necessary to ensure an optimum set-up. A stabilizer bar from H&R racing is used on the front axle, while special springs from Eibach were installed on the rear axle.
Holger Görtz, Managing Director of Geparda, takes stock:
"It was a real enthusiast project for us with a lot of passion and total commitment from everyone involved. Despite the technical challenges, we always found creative solutions as a team. We are completely satisfied with the result - the Geparda is simply great to drive!"
Although the conversion could not be completed in time for the older Görtz son's 16th birthday - he now drives a "conventional car" at 18 - the younger 11-year-old brother, who is already driving the Geparda on a closed-off test track, is already eagerly awaiting his 16th birthday.
The first Gepardas have now been delivered and production has begun. The young riders and their parents are delighted, as it finally means independence and freedom for the youngsters, combined with a clear safety advantage over a motorcycle, which would otherwise have been the only motorized alternative for most of them.trips to the sports facility, training company and their accessibility even in unfavourable weather conditions no longer depend on parental availability and simply provides great freedom for everyone involved within the family - and all this safely in a protected vehicle. The Geparda can be registered in all EU countries and can be driven anywhere from the age of 16!
We are happy to offer your editorial team the exclusive opportunity to test drive the Geparda. You are welcome to see the outstanding features of this innovative vehicle for yourself. Further technical details can be found at www.geparda.de or contact us for more comprehensive information.

GEPARDA IS THE MANUFACTURER
An integral part of the L5e approval - only these can be driven with an A1 driving license - is the power of 20 hp, the double wheel on the rear axle and the weight of the vehicle, which must not exceed 1000 kg. If a vehicle fails to meet just one of the criteria, it can no longer be registered as an L5e. Legal regulations for the current automotive market mean that small vehicles exceed the weight limit of 1000 kg or are withdrawn from the market. Geparda builds the car in such a way that all regulations are complied with, the Geparda receives a new initial registration, Geparda is listed as a manufacturer with the KBA.
